Because they are under the mattress you can sleep and change bedding as usual, but be aware, not all strapping kits are designed under the mattress. Some come in the form of loops that wrap around the mattress and are therefore less comfortable to sleep and change bedding when they are on the bed. The kits do come with handcuffs on your hands and feet, but if you want you can detach them and only handcuff your hands or your feet.
